Purpose:

To share and encourage. Game Developers of every variety can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish, weak, or like a serious n00b. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure Game Devs of all kinds!

Who:

Game Developers of every kind. Tabletop Game Devs, Board Game Devs, Writers, Programmers, Artists, Musicians, Producers, etc. Even though there are differences in design and discipline, there are still a lot of things that can be shared. Board Game Designers can share/learn from Video Game Developers, and vice versa.

Posting:

The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Game Developer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts or questions on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow developers - aim for a dozen new people each time.

Connecting:

This page will list those who are participating. It also allows for comments if you have an immediate need. Check this page whenever you visit – if you can help a fellow Dev, hop on over to their blog and offer assistance. Be watching for updates!

How It Works: 

1. Maintain your own blog. If you don't have one, get a sweet free one at a place like Blogger or Wordpress. (Maintining a blog is the smartest thing any creative person can do anyway.) 
2. Add your blog to the list below. 
3. Once a month, post on your own blog with the big Insecure Game Developer's Support Group image at the top of your post, with a link back to this page. Here's an easy image code for you to copy and paste.
4. Go visit about a dozen or so blogs on the list and spread your love in the comments. 
5. Don't be a dirtbag. :P

 *Do not add a direct link to your post here! This group posts every month. If you sign up and miss one first Wednesday, that's all right! Those who sign up just to advertise or miss two postings in a row will be removed so as not to waste group member's time. Thanks for respecting the purpose of this group!
